As a business owner with a website the content and what your visitors see is one of the most important aspects for success! However, with good structured content you can get higher rankings in search engines, which means: more visitors, more sales, thus, more online success! The trick here is to get humans to engage with your page, while also allowing search engine robots crawling your website to match their algorithms correctly. But where do you start and what do you need to consider? rankingCoach helps you to optimize the body of your pages to get the best out of your website and give you a better chance of achieving the top spots on Google.

But first, what is the body of your page exactly?

The body of a website contains the visible main content such as text, images and links. The main content can be found between the <body> tags in the HTML source code. The body tag is the most important and main tag of any HTML web page as this tag is displayed to the browser.

The content has a major influence on the evaluation of your website by search engines, so how can you get the best body for your page?

First, you have to make sure that your keywords appear in the body of your page. You need to integrate your three most important search terms, preferably in the beginning of the page. By integrating your keywords in your content, search engine robots will recognize that your website is relevant for searches that include the keywords you have selected. Don’t forget to write informative and natural content that your visitors will enjoy reading, you have to write for humans and not only for machines. But you need to keep in mind that the body of your page contains at least 300 words. Google does not give high rankings to websites whose text is too thin and too short.

However, avoid keywords stuffing at all costs. While it can be tempting, it is not a good idea to do so as Google introduced several algorithm updates that punish such practices, because keyword stuffing is not helpful for search engine users. So make sure your keywords are only mentioned 2 or 3 times and that they don’t represent more than 5% of your total word count.

rankingCoach has tasks for you that explain exactly how to integrate your keywords in the body of your page. These written instructions and instruction videos are fully customized to your CMS (website builder). Once you finish these tasks, rankingCoach will check your website to see if you integrated the keywords correctly in the body of your page.

Do you operate locally? In that case, make sure to integrate the location of your business in the body as well!
